The extractor frame has been designed to extract specimen from almost every type of sampling tube, mould in general use in soil engineering laboratory or in the field. This has the advantage that it can be mounted vertically or horizontally as desired. Three 38 mm diameter samples can be collected into three 38 mm diameter tubes from one 100mm dia. sample. This is a unique feature which ensures the economic use of the sample in an undisturbed state.

It comprises a frame designed for screw jack operation, one each of the adapters for size 38mm, 75mm, 100mm, 150mm dia. and stand to obtain simultaneously three 38mm dia. samples from one 100mm dia. sample. The thrust plate which slides along the slotted supports can be clamped at any desired position by means of locking nut. Besides this, the tube or mould can be held in position by raising the tube guides and held in position with locking screws. The lead screw movement can be stopped at any predetermined position by tightening the lead screw locking collar by means of set screw.
